Reverion Closes $175 Million Series B to Scale Next-Generation Power Technology

Honda Xcelerator Ventures portfolio company Reverion has closed a $175 million Series B funding round to scale production of the world’s most efficient power plant tenfold.
The financing will support Reverion’s efforts to scale production of its solid oxide fuel cell power plants and expand its commercial operations. Reverion’s technology converts biogas, natural gas, or hydrogen into electricity on demand, achieving a reported 74.2% efficiency. The system also captures pure CO₂ during power production and, when operating on biogas, can enable a carbon-negative process.
The technology can also operate in reverse, converting surplus electricity into hydrogen or synthetic methane for energy storage. This bidirectional capability is designed to provide greater flexibility as renewable energy generation and electricity demand continue to grow.

What’s Next for Reverion
With this new funding, Reverion is entering its next phase of growth, with plans including:
– A second production site to expand manufacturing capacity
– Megawatt-class systems to scale the technology for larger power applications
– Powering data by addressing growing demand for reliable electricity from energy-intensive applications, including AI data centers

Reverion also plans to build a new megafactory with 250 MW of annual production capacity and up to 800 new jobs, supporting a commercial pipeline valued at more than $2 billion. The company has grown to more than 200 employees, with seven plants currently operating at customer sites and its first international deliveries planned for this year.
