Honda to Release AI-Equipped Autonomous HV and EV Developed with Helm.ai

1月 6, 2026

Honda Motor Co. has announced plans to release hybrid and electric vehicle models equipped with AI-powered self-driving technology in fiscal 2027. Developed in collaboration with U.S. AI startup Helm.ai, a Honda portfolio company, this technology enables vehicles to navigate complex urban traffic as well as remote areas without relying on high-precision 3D maps. By reducing the need for costly infrastructure, this innovation supports broader adoption of autonomous mobility.

Helm.ai’s advanced AI algorithms power the system, allowing vehicles to assess their surroundings, steer, and accelerate autonomously while maintaining driver supervision. This milestone demonstrates the practical application of AI-driven technology in both hybrid and electric vehicles, expanding possibilities for safer, more efficient transportation.

Honda Xcelerator Ventures is proud to be part of Helm.ai’s journey, and will continue to support its success.
