(PNE) to advance discussions on collaboration around next-generation lithium-ion battery recycling technologies. The MOU reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the circular battery materials supply chain and supporting U.S. energy independence through innovative recycling and rejuvenation pathways.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2022, Honda and PNE have conducted joint technical validation of PNE\u2019s plasma-based Direct Recycling and Upcycling technologies for lithium-ion battery manufacturing scrap and end-of-life materials. Through this collaboration, PNE has successfully produced rejuvenated NMC cathode active materials with performance characteristics comparable to virgin materials, reinforcing Honda\u2019s long-term vision for resource circularity and electrification.<\/p>\n<p>The MOU establishes a framework for continued collaboration, including additional validation projects and the potential exploration of future commercial-scale applications. This agreement aligns Honda\u2019s global electrification strategy with PNE\u2019s closed-loop platform for cost-efficient production of battery-grade cathode active materials.<\/p>\n<p>At Honda Xcelerator Ventures, we collaborate with startups working on sustainability and advanced materials.
